2 wire LED CCT dimmer controller

Hi everyone,

here it goes my long shot…

does anyone knows/has tried to control a 2-wire led strip that has color temperature and dimming?

A bit more of information because I think it is not that well known. I got a lamp that has a led strip. The led strip only has 2-wires (yes, only the power wires) that connect to the included bluetooth controller.
The led strip has intercalated warm white led’s and cold white led’s which can be controlled independently (!).
By dimming the warm and white led’s it is possible to obtain a spectrum white color temperature.

I want to integrate the lamp into HA. I see two possible options:

a. I send the bluetooth commands directly from HA.

b. I replace the controller with a custom (Esphome) controller.

Option a. is not working “out-of-the-box” because the controller is not recognised by the “LED BLE” integration. (Attached picture)

Therefore I am now exploring if anyone knows how to make a custom controller with Esphome for such curious led strip with only 2-wires.

Some references about those type of led strips:

Thanks for the help!!

Did you ever find a solution to this?

No :frowning:

Do you have a similar led strip/controller?

I have a similar problem: I want to control 2-wire light strips in my kitchen. The current controller is from “L&S Emotion” also known as “LUMICA LIC”.

There is a Zigbee+Milight/Miboxer Controller for 2-wire CCT LED strips:

To build your own controller with Esphome have a look at H-bridge Light:

Omg this is great!!
Thank you very much!!
I was about to change the led strip of my lamp to an addressable led strip.

Thanks again, I’ll let you know if I manage to control it

Did you manage to get this working?

Yes!! The MiBoxer controller is exactly what I needed. It is easy to connect and to integrate into HA.

Hey! I’m planning to do this as well. My kitchen lights are currently controlled by a L&S Emotion Dimmer as well.

Also it can be controlled by a touch sensible button attached to the Dimmer. It works via optical sensor I guess.

The Miboxer has an input fur push buttons. But will it work with the original/optical push button? As far as I’ve seen, it is using an 4 pin cable. Any experience? Also: Do you have a photo or sketch of how you’ve managed to replace the original dimmer?
