I need your help guys and gals. I just moved in to a 2016-built home with an already present “big” wireless ADT system and starting to rebuild HA from my last home. I’m noticing a “bummer” in that all the existing wireless ADT sensors (~40 open close and ~10 glass break/motion sensors) look unfamiliar to me. Another bummer is that the panel(s) don’t look like I can retrofit into Alarm Decoder and use in HA.
What is my pathway into being able to use HA with these ADT devices. Can I do a panel swap to something that is Alarm Decoder compatible, assuming I’ll have to re-pair all the unfamiliar wireless sensors?
ADT is quoting ~$65 a month for their monitoring services, which I’m OK with assuming I can also have it both ways where I can use their sensors locally, too. I like to silo security and automation, anyway.
Here are some pictures of my main panel and remote panel in the bedroom. Is there a success story of someone that’s taken an incompatible wireless ADT system, customized it to work with something like Alarm Decoder, and kept ADT’s monitoring?
