2021.11: Icon picker, device links and entity categories

if you pay cash a developer I am sure the wait will be shorter

Hi Tom, no, the issue Iā€™m seeing is that my fan goes ā€˜offlineā€™ in HA. Itā€™s never offline in the xiaomi app.

reload your cache

EDIT: If you mean customizations, it does not come up there. It appears on the entity itself.

You never replied to the devā€™s response 6 days ago, how can you expect a fix. They need to see whatā€™s causing the error to fix it.

I was hoping to be able to start adding devices to areas that I donā€™t necessarily want to be switched on/off by certain automations. As an example, every evening we run our dishwasher. I also have an automation that turns everything off (smart plugs, lights etc) after 20:00 if no motion has been detected for x amount of time. If I add my dishwasher to the kitchen area, it will also turn off. But the thing is, I do want to control the dishwasher in certain situations, so disabling the control entity isnā€™t what im looking for.

Mine just worked fine so strange that you have an issue. I checked the HA Github page for any new issues with Efergy and nothing is showing up. Would suggest you log this as a new issue so that it can be looked into.

Yes I mean customizations, the spelling got corrected, iā€™m not in the US.
some entities need to be changed in ā€œcustomizationsā€

Iā€™m sure that will be added at some point

Iā€™m not sure what happen but strange thing happen. I never install ā€œAtomic Calendar Reviveā€ however it appear out of nowhere. Uninstall it did not make it go away and it keep on trying to go back. So my question is ā€œHow do I get rid of this pesky addon?ā€

Anyone seen any issues with ONVIF? Everything works per se, except when I click the picture entity card I cannot get the camera stream to come up. Anyone else seeing this. I have done multiple reboots due to other updates, and no change. I may remove the integration and reload it to see if it makes a difference, but wondering if anyone else is seeing the issue.

RAWR FSD Fansā€¦ So yes they are showing up now, however they are unsupportedā€¦ Who do I need to go to to get these to be controlled with the new integration?

** I noticed they show up as a device, but there is not entity in relation to themā€¦ most likely due to the unsupported ***

I may have misunderstood you, but are you sure youā€™ve fully explored where the icon picker can be used?

Go to Configuration ā†’ Entities and click on a given entity. You then have the option is use the icon picker to change the icon for that entity, which will then apply to that entity throughout the frontend:

[This only applies to entities with a unique ID that can be managed through the UI of course, not those created via yaml]

Same here, I cant get rid of it eitherā€¦

Am I the only one who has problems with HACS? The page only returns an error: Error while loading page entry.

At the same time, an error message appears on console:
Error loading page entry SyntaxError: Invalid or Unexpected token

This all happens when using https with reverse proxy (NGINX). There is no problem loading HACS with http, but all add-ons return 401. Canā€™t remember what the situation was with the previous version.

edit:
Firefox returns different error in console:
Error loading page entry SyntaxError: '' string literal contains an unescaped line break

I already tried reinstalling HACS and clearing all caches.

With Nabu Casa external and http internal connections here no any problem with HACS.

With the ā€œvisit deviceā€ button implemented, was there a consideration to add some kind of double check in between that you might be routed outside home-assistant and/or your network? (Like a warning page or a pop-up about the fact you are being redirected).

I mean, itā€™s possible to route to any shady website. Yes I understand that for components in HA the PR is being reviewed, but there is no guarantee the website doesnā€™t change later. For Custom Components itā€™s even ā€œworseā€ as there is less of a check.

A notification beforehand perhaps doesnā€™t fix it, but at least it gives a warning and if it displays the URL you are being routed to, it at least gives you some kind of heads up.

Just a random thought I wanted to share

Hi

Since I moved to the new flux integration, itā€™s doing the same thing it did about 2 years ago when turning LEDs on.

It doesnā€™t turn the lights on properly and only turns them on a dim red when it is meant to be on.

This is why I used the HACS flux add-on for version 8 firmware as it fixed the issue.

Thanks

Hi,

I just upgraded to Core 2021.11 and there are lines in the Core log about DB migration/upgrade :

2021-11-05 10:19:15 INFO (MainThread) [homeassistant.core] Timer:starting
2021-11-05 10:19:15 WARNING (Recorder) [homeassistant.components.recorder.migration] Database is about to upgrade. Schema version: 22
2021-11-05 10:19:15 WARNING (Recorder) [homeassistant.components.recorder.migration] Adding columns name to table statistics_meta. Note: this can take several minutes on large databases and slow computers. Please be patient!
2021-11-05 10:19:15 INFO (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.sensor] Setting up sensor.rest

Thatā€™s fine but there is no log notification when this task is completed .
Is it something ā€œnormalā€ , and iI do not need to bother about this ?

Thank you

We probably donā€™t have that model in the database. Please open an issue with additional details. Thanks :+1:
