Energy Management in Home Assistant

It has been said many times in this thread and in the 2021.8 release thread, but there are a number of attributes that need to be set. I believe that they are: state_class: measurement last_reset: '1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00' unit_of_measurement: kWh # or Wh device_class: energy Also make sure the entity is measuring energy not power. Power is the rate of consumption of energy. Think of it like this, your heater consumes at the rate of 1.5 kW (power) and in 3 hours uses 4.5 kWh of energy.

Sorry to bother again (3rd strike haha ):

I’m still stuck with the cost entity not showing up (2021.8.0: Feel the energy - #271 by e-raser).

Can anyone point me to the right direction? Maybe @tom_l ? I have a manual total cost entity I would like to select but it doesn´t show up, although it has all the needed attributes and I´ve really read all documentation available twice meanwhile

There is a new cost entity that is automatically created when you enable the new Energy feature.
Check Developer Tools/Entities to see its name ( eg sensor.xxxxx_cost) and add it to your recorder section in your config file.

olled back to core-2021.7.4 and it work normally, but no luck with core 8.0 and 8.1

same problem, had it all working but it stopped after a recent update.
