[2022.5] How to check configuration before restarting post update?

Hey all, the restart button has now moved to the top of the new settings page, which is nice. But I did enjoy being able to check configuration before doing so. Is that something that happens automatically or has it been moved somewhere and I just cannot find it?

Thanks!

Never mind, found it under Developer Tools. The Tip was not speaking to me earlier :stuck_out_tongue:

FYI, the restart button checks the config before restarting so there’s no need to press the button before restart.

If the check fails, it reports the failure and doesn’t restart.

Wow, I was searching for 10 to 15 minutes on how to check my config and restart HA. Not have found it without this post, thanks!

I think that is going to be an habit many will still do, including me haha

I even used the new command window (press c on the keyboard) couldn’t find it.

This makes sense to me as they try to tidy up and march towards more normal user usage.

Is it possible to make an automation which will check the config and perform a reboot if the config is okay? Then I can use a dashboard button so I never have to search for the button. Also loading ‘Developer tools’ take some time so a dashboard button make everything a lot easier for me.

Take a look at the documentation on the homeassistant.restart service:

It already does what you want.
