I have successfully installed HA in Docker on Linux Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (GNU/Linux 5.15.0-58-generic x86_64) on PC. Everything started and works, but there is no add-ons panel in the system settings. How to fix it?
HA in Docker does not have access to addons. Addons are only available with HomeAssistant OS or Home Assistant Supervised.
And it says that there is no integrations providing updates. How to fix it? And how to install file editor, terminal?
You can’t install any addon when using Home Assistant Container. Both of those are addons.
I’m not sure what you mean by this. You’ll still be able to add integrations.
I men that when i press check for updates the system answers “You don’t have any integrations that provides updates”
Home assistant supervisor (only available with home assistant OS and supervised) handles updates. If you’re running HA Container, you have to manage your updates.
If you are quite comfortable around docker and adding more container to complement your HA install, then this is fine. If not, you might want to use a different install where supervisor assists.
I myself like being totally free so docker is top, this also allows me to install containers which are not yet available as add-ons, others like to have a more self supporting setup.
Note that I have both, the HAOS one more to verify a few things that I help testing/dev…they are not too far apart.
When you search this forum on HAOS/Supervisor vs docker you will find a quite extensive range of pro’s / con’s … so no-one has the single right answer
Okay, I’ve temporarily run Home Assistant Supervised on a pi4b raspberry. I will return to the home server later, I am far from it now, I will change the system there. The question now is: how to output the sound of alerts through the sound output of the raspberry pi?
And the second question: where can I get detailed manuals for working with a home assistant without a supervisor? I worked with him before covid 19 and forgot everything.
