Is it possible to pair Cubetouch (fingerbot)? (not Tuya and Adraprox). Unfortunately, home assistant does not see him.
since Hue scenes are supported, I now notice that they are not displayed on a Hue groups more-info. would this be a bug, or by (new) design:
the palette icon only takes me to a kelvin slider, and no scenes are clickable there either
woud be nice if we could turn-off there tooā¦ and keep the name of the lights too btw, thereās plenty of space after allā¦
Not sure why this flagged. Is it the reference to āhousewifeā mode? Fair enough, but I have seen far worse on here.
No idea))) probably some housewife or a Jedi was offended.
Ok, edited it to āsimpleā and āadvancedā.
The idea was a checkbox (per-user) whether he wants to see a simplified or a detailed view.
Then everyone is happy. And devās efforts are spent for a good.
I would fully expect that to be flagged - I consider it offensive - I think Ildar_Gabdullin meant novice, or not technically minded. Or of course Padawan
I think there is tooo much attention to a particular word.
Housewife is not something bad. It is a person who does not care about history, logbook etc.She only needs a big red button.
I heard a lot about wars in Twitter and other social networks happened when people imagined much more than it was meant.
Insinuating that housewiveās are simple is why it was flagged. Flagrant sexism is against the code of conduct.
Ok. Right now I am a househusband nursing a 2month girl. Not offended at all.

The phrase you should all be using is
Home Approval Factor
The HOME itself has no opinion one way or another. Spouse Approval Factor or Resident Approval Factor makes far more sense logically.
To clarify: when you say āHomeā, I think of the physical building, not the people that live in that building.
Both true statements. But Iāve had a long career in IT, and in my experience any project which disregards the usersā needs ultimately fails.
When I was doing development, it was simple self-respect which caused me to seek input from users, try to understand their day-to-day needs, and deliver something they were happy with. When a project descends into an āUs vs. Themā attitude by developers, things go bad quickly.
I was fortunate to work in IT groups which never developed that attitude. But I know of others which did, and I can recognize the warning signs. Even a benevolent dictator needs to keep the peasants happy.
I donāt think itās a bad thing if users are made to feel they are being heard and respected.
Please take this as constructive feedback in hopes of keeping HA the premier home monitoring/automation system that it is.
I am having a little difficulty with the āBIG BUTTONā for this ZHA Lightgroup (the group has colour temperature)
At a glance - which picture represents the light group in the on state and which represents the off state?
There is barely any visible change other than
- a minor text change
- alteration in the shade of grey of the toggle element and (look carefully) the power button.
I would like to see something more obvious to indicate that the light is on - it seems to be taking the ācolourā representation for the on state based on the temperature (mine is the most cool of whites)
Kelvin
For the Tile Slider, Iād really love the ability to use the More-Info UI in my dashboard instead of hiding it behind a click.
I know there are other ways to do this. Iāve done it with other components. Itās just annoyingly to maintain.
Hi, any news on this? I found that my RGBW bulbs became uncontrollable by this HA version.
I also cannot set white from frontend and other commands usually take several tries. On my RGBCW bulbs, everything seems to be ok.
All my RGBW bulbs use esphome, i tried to update them to latest version too
While true, I think what we fail to consider is that as projects get used by larger and larger numbers of people, it becomes harder to find a way to make changes that everyone will agree with. I think this is why it seems that the main developers arenāt listening to those who are being vocal about disliking specific changes or the overall direction the team is heading in this particular year.
The difference with Home Assistant is that you can pretty much add any feature you want using third party integrations, if you can write it.
I wasnāt suggesting anyone should make a change for a few whiny individuals. What I was suggesting was listening to the legitimate issues facing users. Especially when there are a lot of them saying the same thing.
Sometimes itās hard for a designer to put themselves in the place of the poor slob who has to use the thing every day. One way to make things prettier is to dumb them down, remove or hide functionality. Instead, put up a big, flashy, fashionable screen which will impress new users and other designers. I humbly suggest thatās not a worthy goal. Boring but functional would be better for the project in the long run.
Different users want different things; you and I might be fine with how the old dialogs were set up (I actually like some of the changes), while other users may find them confusing. Which set of users should the developers listen to?
How many user complains have you seen related to āI do not need history, logbook etc, give me one big red buttonā? Or āI do not need a precise history, give me statisticsā? Or āWTH we have to deal with these unclear entity_ids, I only need to refer my entities like Lights in my kitchenā?
If these opinions exist, then it would be useful to have a discussion. But if we agree that users must only accept ready solutions or switch to another platform, then there is nothing to discuss.
I think the root of the complaints, at least the stuff in your post, are mostly about a loss of convenience for long-time users. I donāt see the need for those things to be in a tab at the top of the dialog, but others may prefer that, so I do agree that talking about it could be useful.
