2024.9: Sections go BIG

Turn up logging for hive.

Restart HA. Try to start and stop the hive a couple of times.

There will be logs.

By the way the trace on the GitHub issue was from an automation.

I am not in customer support, so I don’t have to worry about putting your back up. If you can’t be bothered to report bugs properly, I will call you out. You are not my customer. However I hope the logging suggestions are constructive.

Like many others, I would be delighted if Microsoft Azure OpenAI were also offered as an LLM alongside OpenAI.
Do we have a chance of getting this here?
Thank you for your great work!

I have tried again on .9.3 and the issue remains. It fires the error just by using the service to turn on the water heater. I didn’t find anything in the log but I have posted the full text of the error. The two owners of the Hive integration have been silent on HA for nearly a year so I don’t think it is being maintained. I believe that how services are called has been changed in .9 so that is likely the issue. As I said - this is the perils of OSS.

Check if there’s an active fork (in GitHub) that you can install.

Concratulations.
I think the sections are great.
Will it also be possible to control the visibility via value_template conditions in the future?

Are you saying that hive doesn’t record anything at all even with logging turned right up? I find that hard to believe. What did you set your logging to? And what is the result of

grep hive /config/home-assistant.log

It’s kind of irrelevant as someone used the method in an automation and posted the log with the same error I am seeing. So it’s not needed. The main issue is there is no reply whatsoever from the project owners of the Hive integration. There is no scheduled fix for this. the Hive integration as of 2024.9.x is dead.

Hello
I lost all my Home Assistant tabs after upgrading except the first one on left, so I restored back to last version. Do I need to do anything special after upgrading to view all my Home Assistant tabs or I just stick to the old version until remedy is found?

Cheers

Hi, are you talking about the ones at the top, in the header, which are called views?

If so, I don’t think this is because of this update and I haven’t seen a report about it but maybe some one else knows more then me.
Were those just normal views?
Did you refresh the browser, tried a different one?

Don’t forget that it’s a browser app so in case of issues, it’s always a good idea to switch or clear your cache.

Probably because people with the problem won’t diagnose the problem.

Yes, the views, ok I will update again and investigate a bit. Thanks for the hint

Cheers

Have the issue with Tibber not presenting data while producing from solar panels been fixed with 2024.9.3?

It’s been done - look at the initial report. Just not on this thread - it’s not really the place. The owners of the integration have done no updates for nearly a year and not acknowledged they will look at the issue. The Hive Integration isn’t maintained.

Another release, another z-wave total failure. Devices missing, system hanging, nothing working. Sigh.

No problems with my z-wave network after update. If you want assistance, please provide more information (suggested in a new thread as the problem is most likely not related to this update) or are you just here to vent your frustration?

You haven’t posted your detailed log in your GitHub issue. Exactly the same information I sought to assist you here.

To summarize:

You: Hive is broken
Me: show us your logs
You: I refuse, because it’s broken
Me: the logs are needed
You: I refuse, because it’s broken

I’m not the only person reporting the issue and others have posted more information. Perhaps if anyone said they would be looking I’d do more - nobody is looking at it as far as I can see. Unless you are then I don’t have more to say to you about it/

That’s not very reasonable. Don’t you think that any concrete information you can provide would help?

Yale support should not be removed from the August integration until the new Yale integration supports US users. The US has not been moved to “Yale Home” app as we still use the “Yale Access” app. The login screen for the Yale integration just says “Wrong Username and password” with known good credentials.

I told you exactly what you need to supply. But apparently you are finally going to be quiet about it, which is a blessing.

But perhaps before you finally go, you could point to the exact place where “others have posted more information”.
