Great QOL Release

Hope to see improvements on the new Auto generated Area Dashboard Next time:wink::muscle::heart:
(In my View the next Game Changer)

It looks like the option to scroll badges is only with the ā€œsectionsā€ view. It would be great to see it available to existing dashboards built with other types as well!

In the past, I’ve complained that changes were rolled out without the possibility of the users to have the choice of retaining previous functionality.

Today, I take it all back.

Not only has this release introduced new options like the backup option on update and the entity selection. It also took care of creating dedicated settings so that everyone’s preference can be configurable.

Congrats to the HA team for living up to their promise of providing choice!

Of all the QOL changes in this release (which i LOVE), this has got to be the best one

  • A long-standing issue with iOS and the dropdown items in our user interface has been fixed! No longer will it select the wrong item when you tap on it while the dropdown is open and the keyboard is shown.

This looks like a really great release. Of all the various smaller and bigger improvements I think I’m going to like the new entity picker the most. But then I also love the changes related to using yaml and UI at the same time, I do it a lot, especially on mobile.

Backup settings seem to have all gone after the upgrade, or just goes to blank page. Restore to 2025.4.x brings the settings back. Using HA Supervised.

I feel like this should be in every release thread but: Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

I’m excited to try messing with the hybrid YAML/UI. Messing around with my notification scripts, I’ve noticed some things, like some fields, such as message or title, in the mobile android notify action can’t accept templates themselves. Doing so wipes the whole action into YAML mode. This means I can’t pass text arguments to a script to call multiple users’ notify action outside full YAML, unless I’m just doing it wrong?

Just a ā€˜heads up’, this version breaks LocalTuya.

Certainly did in the iOS companion app ā€˜Reset Frontend Cache’. First thing I tried. Can’t find anything logged anywhere. On the HA instance I access via browser (rather than app), the settings were still there until I was prompted to reload frontend, then they went.

If there is no longer a persistent notification (which in my understanding is the notification indication in the ā€œnotificationsā€ section of the sidebar) how are users notified of a discovered device?

The page at http://homeassistant.local:8123/config/backup/settings is also broken here, in FireFox.

Cache clear no help; nor private mode.

over and over again.

I use the NextCloud WebDAV backup location, if any help.

Thanks everyone! :+1: :bowing_man:

At first glance, this release seemed to be a small one but watching the stream: yet again HA has become better once more!!!

Had a little issue because of running venv (Python 3.1213.1, no upgrade available) but system was down a little longer then usual but just very briefly.

Great release!

Ignore, error message disappeared after clean shutdown/restart.

Same error here, backup settings broken

Theme fonts are not being respected and the HA default font is being loaded.

Really excited for the wave improvements. Any thoughts on how to migrate existing controllers and devices that are compatible with LR, but already on the network?

I thought the S3 integration would allow me to backup to my Minio installation but the url required needs to be an S3 style url with a region included.
