Hello from Flensburg in Germany
After having upgraded my Home Assistant to 2025.8 this morning it is running very very slow. There was a clear change between the version 2025.7.4 and 2025.8.0. My HA is running on a Raspberry Pi 4, and I have restarted it twice after a complete shutdown - no changes. If I check with »top« in the terminal, there is almost no activity overall - now and then max 1 to 3…
The logbook and the system log do not show anything special - some streaming errors from Unifi Protect every 1o minutes. Any idea what is happening?
Best regards Jan

How are you accessing it mine was dog slow going through my internet connection to the Nabu url from inside my firewall… But I switched to my internal ip and it flies.
Previous I ws hitting my external url with no noticeable speed difference. Something changed but I have not figured it out yet.
I just updated this morning and I have seen no speed issues with the new version, internal or external. Mine actually feels a little faster with this version.
I found the problem. Two integrations, Solarman and Homematic Ip local produced so large logfiles, that the system stopped working properly. I could update HomeMatic IPlocal from Hacs, andI found a patch to Solarman and changed 1 line in a file - that solved all the problems.
I deactivated all Integrations, but the problem was still there.
Did a system restore and upgrade again-> still bad performance.
Staying at 2025.7
CPU usage without any running integration is 27%
and that stays the sane, when all Integrations are running again

Here all integrations stopt working after upgrade, restore backup bricked everything. Had to re-install HAos and old backup.
In stay on 25.7.4 for the moment.
I’m curious if any who are still seeing poor performance have noticed any increase in memory utilization. I’ve found that’s often more of a constraint than CPU.
Hi Jan, Can you give me more details on the patch for Solarman and the 1 line you changed? I have the same issue with 2025.8 and I am using Solarman also.
Hello, I’m having same issue with latest version, i’m running it on a proxmox setup running ha os, cpu usage clearly increased since i upgraded to the latest ha versions.
No CPU usage increase for me after the upgrade to 2025.8.1. (upgrade was done around 9:00).
Only the memory usage increases a bit but maybe that will be gone after a restart.
Finally found a solution.
Had installed 2 add-ons but didn’t use:
Matter Server
Music Assistant Server
Deleted both and started the update to 2025.8.1.
Took long time but it works now
I unfortunately have to stay at 2025.7.4 (on my Yellow device) for now as both upgrade attenmpts to 2025.8.1 and then a week later to 2025.8.2 failed. in both upgrade attempts, almost all integrations (i’m not talking custom integrations, but HA legit) simply don’t come up. I spent a good few hours researching including the help of chatGPT, yet no success only to revert back to 2025.7.4
I am pretty sure that there is something overarching that is causing this issue but not sure what it may be. I have another Yellow that upgraded flawlessly.
I did not. but since you mentioned it, i did read about it and it seems that it is mostly effective when there is a configuration.yaml error or if a custom integration is causing a problem. In my case I disabled the two custom integrations and HA gets stuck on loading core HA integrations (e.g. mqtt, workday, calendar, etc.). Thanks though for pointing out this debugging feature
