240V Smart Switches

Hi guys, I’m getting quite annoyed with the little choice I have for smart switches that support 240V. Only ones I found are from aliexpress, but I like the fancy ones that are sold over at the US like Wemo’s, Brilliant’s, GE’s, etc. But these only support 120V.

Someone has a workaround for this? Any rumours for coming soon versions supporting 240V? I do have neutral wire, so that’s not an issue.

Telling us your country would help narrow down the selection.

would also help if you told us what communication protocol you’re after (WiFi, 433MHz, Zigbee, Zwave, etc)

Sure, excuse my lack of detail! I live in Malta, Europe. I’d rather have the switch connected to electricity so I don’t need to bother with batteries. I guess this makes a WiFi switch as my preference.

All switches are connected to electricity

Hmm, found some that don’t need, like the Philips Hue dimmer switch :slightly_smiling_face: but in that case, I won’t mind having a zigbee ( a zigbee dongle is on it’s way ) or well even Z-wave, as long as it’s connected to electricity, no need to charge batteries ( even if it’s once per century ) and as long as it offers cool features, like the brands mentioned do.

Why you don’t look at shelly1 or sonoff mini to put behind your existing wall switches ?

Thanks for your help :slightly_smiling_face: but I meant light switches like the ones below

Wemo’s
Brilliant’s

I’m trying to keep this as my last to go solution. Home is still under construction and not even wired yet. I also would prefer to have a complete product rather than tinker with switches ( my area is more in software and code too ). Also normal switches have no extra features that these switches from the mentioned brands come up with ( and of course there will be workarounds - but trying to keep things easy )

Thanks! I think I saw these somewhere but not on their official site. I will keep these on my reserved list, I would love to have those pressy buttons :slightly_smiling_face:

The hue dimmer is a remote. Are you looking for a remote, or a plug to turn on/off appliances ?

Oh! just mentioned zigbee dongle is on the way above - postman just delivered it! Steamy night ahead!

Sorry, had to share, super excited!

OK, that is true. No I want a wired smart switch to turn off and on lights. My favourite so far is this but it only supports 120V :slightly_frowning_face:

If your cabling is OK, you could place a fibaro dimmer behind your current switch.

The US-switches don’t even fit in a standard EU switch box.

That is true too :slightly_frowning_face:

Not true. I use Sonoff TX US here in Barcelona:

Fibaro has plenty of switches, dimmers and other stuff. Thats what I have deployed here in Norway
