28GB homeassistant.log eats all disk space. Deletion does not free up space

Hi Folks,

i had a sudden explosion of log size on my HA green. It caused my appliance running out of space. As purge didn’t work I stupidly deleted the large log file via VSCode. Unfortunately disk space is still allocated. Any idea what I can do to free up the space? I cannot install anything like SSH add-on as I only have 0,5 GB space left. So my options are bound to interaction via the UI, VSCode.

Thanks in advance!!
Tom

What about log.1, is that huge and eating space too?

Restart 3 times quickly after each other.

That was small. I deleted it too. Both have been recreated in the meanwhile with small size. Still space is occupied on disk.

Okay, I give it a try.

It worked!

Best,

The restarted did not solve the issue.
It only allowed the log files to be deleted.

You should look into why the log files grow so much.
