2gig GC2E alarm panel, including in HASS

We recently upgraded our home alarm panel from an old Honeywell (using the TotalConnect integration in HASS) to a 2Gig GC2E panel (alarm company did the upgrade due to the sunset of 3G and they didn’t have any 4G radio cards for the Honeywell available). The panel includes a zwave radio and I was able to get the panel to include into my HASS in zwave2js.

In zwave2js, I see the panel showing manufacturer “Nortek Security & Control LLC” and the product as “2GIG GC2e Wireless Security & Automation System”. I can also see the zwave firmware version on the device, mfg specific info (i.e. mfg ID, product type, and product ID). The node number assigned to this panel is Node 26.

When I go into HASS under Configuration → Devices, I see Node 26 as the device with manufacturer and model listed as . No entities are created through this so my door, window, and smoke/heat sensors don’t show up.

Any idea what I should look for on this? I’ve searched around but it seems there’s not a whole lot out there. I tried a HACS integration for alarm.com but it’s currently broken.

The custom integration should work again:

That’s so odd. I was reading the github bug on it yesterday and confirmed I had the same errors in my logs. I’ll rely on this HACS integration for now but would much more prefer to use zwave since the panel has a built in radio. Thanks for the heads up on it working again!

I have a 2GIG GC3 and I like the hardware. It is well built. However, I don’t want to pay for the alarm.com integration.

How did you include the panel into HA?

Honestly don’t remember but it didn’t work right. You have to use the HACS plugin for alarm.com to control the panel.
