5m Hue compatible light strips at 50 euro

mmhh good question. But I think is more related to the power supply (maybe).

There are two things

  • power supply, definetely needs to be bigger to support 75W LED like the Aeotec
  • controller, I am not sure, might be enough … don’t know

they come from China, probably the manufacturer is doing it without Aeotec knowing it. MAke sure the zwave standard they give you is for your region

This is the controller, I am getting philips hub by the end of the week so I can also test if it really is compatible. I am looking into changing these lights with stronger ones, but i dont think its going to work

thanks would you mind to make a picture of the contacts, thats the interesting part to understand with which is compatible.

12V x 2A for 3 channel so is 24W per channel I think. I don’t know how other producers count this: if its 24W or is 24Wx3 which is 72 W

So you got the RGB version (not the RGBW)? RGB should be 3 channel RGBW 4

contacts are just like they are shown in the pic, but will take a pic and post if after work. I got the 2700 - 6500K white spectrum.

I do not see the contacts in the pic

RGBW type?

I mean there is a pic, contacts are just pins. no RGB, just tunable white.

Finally my hue gateway arrived, I really hate slow ebay GSP, sucks! But anyway, once I updated hue, it found the light strip right away

so as you can see, dimming works, tunable white choices works as well…excuse the mess, house not yet finished…

homekit doesnt work through the hue app, as it does detect the bulb as generic and doesnt import it with homekit rooms. But over home assistant it should all be ok.

edit: poor pic quality - my iphone died, so i’m using the good old 4S

Are the Aeotec much brighter?

Sure Theresia the power supply my controller included ?

Sorry I don’t understand your sentence

hi, didnt yet order the aotec,as I am too busy with the house itself, want to get as much done as possible before winter. Looking at the numbers, it should be way brighter, 5000 lumen vs 1500. Works with home kit through home assistant.

Ok.

Wish to check from a buyer. Not totally sure is like you said (maybe yes,)

How do you wanna power up and control the strip without the controller and power supply ?

check about what?

Its 24W vs 75W so its going to be brighter ofc. And I was talking about jiawen supporting home kit, this I have up and running at home.

I do not understand if its 24W in total or 24W per channel (24x3=72W).

This is my doubt: the power supply of the Jiawei is very big, (might be 72W), I will check later if its written something on it

In the Jiawei yes: controller is inside the power supply, a bit bulky too (for some installation could be a problem)

I dont think so, everywhere online the jiawen info states:
● voltage: DC 12V
● Luminous flux: 1300LM (probably combined)
● Power: 20W ( 2700 - 6500K ), 25W ( RGB ), 25W ( RGBW )

aeotec:
1100lumen per meter - over 5000 combined
72w at max brightnes.

philis hue led strip
combined 1600 (800 per meter)

Thats the info I found online. TBH I will probably go with original philips hue led lightstrip plus + extension. Hassle free and excellent quality.

noooo

GO with the Jiawei, they work perfectly. Or if the lumen difference is real, go with the Aeotec
