6.12.23-haos does not have kernel modules for my usb audio support.
I’m using a asus laptop with an N6000 pentium processor as the HA server.
I’m using a usb speaker / microphone attached to said laptop and it is listed under lsusb but arecord does not recognize it which I believe is why my voice assist does not work. Using lsusb I get “Bus 001 Device 010: ID 1234:5684 MV-SILICON P10S” among other devices. I can select “P10S” in the assist microphone addon configuration. But it will not respond to wake word.
Surely I’m not the only one with this problem.
I used an home assistant image file to install which uses docker containers. Is there an addon like assist microphone that could load the necessary modules to give me the functions I need drive the microphone and speaker?
If you installed with Docker, then you have to find Dockers not add-ons to exten HA functions.
Aside from that, generally the microphone and voice stuff is in other devices, like HA’s VPE, a Google hub, Alexa device, home brew esphome, something like that.
My HA server, which is an old Asus laptop, isn’t recognizing my USB speaker and mic, even though I can see it listed. I think it’s because it’s missing some special software, and that’s why my voice assistant won’t work. I really hope I’m not the only one dealing with this!
