A first class Mealie AddOn (Official or Community)

Hi there,

now that we have some great support for Mealie in form of a nice integration, I would like to see an first class AddOn to install Mealie in HomeAssistant (Supervised or OS). As there are already solutions like Grocy, I think it will fit the scope quite nicely.

There are some solutions out there already, but the do not offer all capabilities we know and love from a Home Assistant AddOn (i.e. ingress).

Ingress won’t work with Mealie. Just accept that and use the existing addon.

You know, I haven’t found much time to justify that conclusion. Now that you have prompted me to look again, I think I may be wrong. Maybe a misunderstanding of something I read.

There seems to be a repo here which claims to do ingress. GitHub - krakonos1602/hassio-addons

I haven’t tried it, so please let us know how it goes.

No worries. Thanks for your explanation. I found out about the challanges for mealie in combination with ingress. But I am quite sure this will be figured out in the future.

The current implementations are using a reverse proxy. That said, the repository you linked works fine for me. I can use it locally and remote via ingress. It works even with a custom domain setup via Nabu Casa.
