A new searchable list card

add_item find_item

I was trying to start using Home Assistant’s shopping list lately, but was not pleased with the Todo list card.

I am used to Google Keep, and I like that as I type, it suggests items that are already in the list, which helps keep the list duplicates free.

So I have created a new custom card called Searchable List Card.

This card does it a little differently, by making the ‘Add item’ field double as a search bar, and narrowing the list down as you type (inspired by search-card).

If the item already appears in the list, it will jump to the top and you can just uncheck it, and if it is not, you can just hit enter (or the plus icon), and it adds it to the list.

This is the first time I try to develop a new lovelace card, so I’m confident I have made a lot of mistakes.

I also have not yet added the ability to edit or delete items, and there is a lot of room for improvements on the overall user experience, but for my needs it already provides the basics I was missing.

I would love your input, and feel free to contribute yourself!
