Periodic failure and not just one device. If I VPN into my network, no problems. Same when I’m locally connected. Doesn’t always happen, seems random.
Running HA Yellow. I am running reverse proxy with NGINX (3.10.01) with DuckDNS (1.18.0)
Core2024.8.3
Supervisor2024.08.0
Operating System13.1
Frontend20240809.0
Not sure what the issue is and where to begin looking.

That is an Apple iOS error.
The iOS can’t find the domain name and it is not even getting to the HA part of the system.
You need to look into your DNS servers on the device and maybe contact your ISP.
O2 have been seen blocking duckDNS domains at one point.

Thank you @WallyR . This only happens on the LTE/5G networks so I think it might be hard to investigate that way.
But again, doesn’t happen all the time. It’s just sort of periodic. Maybe switching to a better DDNS?
Suggestions?

Just switch your WIFI/LTE OFF and switch it On.
I have time to time this one as well

Yes, thank you. I do this. Just wondering if I can “solve” it or it just is what it is.

Not free (you need a paid domain name), but cloudflare DNS is rock solid

It depends on your ISP’s setup.
If there DNS servers are just bad or they use it for blocking, what they see as malicious domains, then you might be able configure your own on the device.
If your ISP use DPI (Deep Packet Inspection), then your might be able to use dns-over-https, if it is available. Otherwise your best bet is to switch ISP.

Thanks again. Can’t really switch ISP but I’m thinking of switching DDNS providers.

That might help too.
It seems it is especially duckDNS that gets hit with this issue.
I guess because they are so big a player in that field.

Have the same problem since I switched to DuckDNS. Before I used Netgear DynDNS, but DuckDNS seemed to be good solution, especially with SSL.
It only happens randomly, but via mobile and Wifi. After a few minutes all working again. Telekom/T-Mobile Germany.
Is there no othere workaround? Didnt have the problem on my mac (yet), just on iPhone.

Hi - I only have it usually on mobile, never on Wifi. I too use Telekom.

I now switched to Cloudflare… hoping it will work more stable.
