A WiFi gateway for sensors : Broadlink S1C or Xiaomi?

Hi,

I’m looking for a WiFi native solution (very important) to integrate sensors into Home Assistant. I’m planning to use door/window sensors (4 at least), motion detection (not more than 2), maybe temperature (I can have that somewhere else, 2 or 3 zones). I’m also looking for a basic ‘close circuit’ switch to control my central heating, but it could also be somewhere else.

I can’t find those component as WiFi standalone solution (power isn’t a problem as I can plug them where I want to use them) so I’m turning to a gateway.

I have several Broadlink components and I’m happy with them. They can be set and used without any Internet connection. The S1 solution also has a keychain remote that would be nice and easy for the kids.

But I understand the S1C is not as well integrated as the Xiaomi gateway ? The Xiaomi also has an integrated speaker (alarm, ring bell…) and might be a little less expensive once added all the components ?

But I guess the Xiaomi gateway doesn’t work nicely in my environment, where the ‘IoT’ objects are isolated in a SSID/VLAN heavily filtered !

Could I have some user experience, who’s using them and how ?

Thanks
