Ability to update ip address from dashboard

Got a low hanging fruit feature request:

Assuming the IP address of the HA changed there should be an easy way to update the URL from the dashboard. Currently you can open the dashboard, tap the orange gear, select the Instance and view the internal ip address — but cannot edit it. At the very least it should clarify in an information bubble that you cannot change this from the app dashboard, and you can from the dashboard if you connect via browser.

I know you’re supposed to manage this with the router but I recently switched to Verizon and got a new router (cause for ip change) and this 6GE and otherwise great router has no DHCP management. So I cannot change the ip address. I think I need to buy a micro hdmi cable and connect the pi directly to a monitor now, no idea. I just know this would have been super easy an intuitive if I could simply update the ip from the dashboard.

There is a sensor - sensor.local_ip

Hey it turns out you can do exactly what I tried to do first. I can’t explain why it took two weeks before I could enter my cursor in the IP address but apparently you can fix it in the dashboard of the app. It’s just sometimes you cannot put the cursor that text box. Perhaps these’s a bug in the iOS/iPad app.

Hi Eric,
