Access FTP server?

I realise this may not be the kind of functionality that Home Assistant is designed to support but motion capture videos from my cams go to a ftp server that has more space available than my raspberry pi hassio setup

It seems logical that I should be able to view these in home assistant but the ftp addon appears to be to set up space on the hassio as an ftp server (if I have understood correctly). I guess I need a ftp client option. Is this possible and, if so, has anyone created code/lovelace that is user friendly for this?

I’m in the same position as you. Just installed cams and they record on my ftp server. Just started digging to see if it was possible to access files from HA.

I eventually set the server folders as Samba folders and went that route. That did work

Would the samba method work for folder_watcher? Like with HA Container…have a docker ftp that uploads to a Samba folder that HA is doing folder_watcher on?
