Among other, mostly outdated advice, the more recent googling results show @TimKras suggesting to remove trusted_networks from the configuration.
But isn’t that the way to make it not ask a wall mounted dashboard to log in?
My system is a HAOS VM running mostly without issues in Proxmox:

Yes, community.home-assistant.io is the place where you will get most likely help for your HA related questions.
I think you already have your answer in your topic title: “Access HA dashboard without login”
What do people do to display a dashboard on a wall mounted screen, what is the best practice in the community then?
Does a user have to log in every time (or periodically when a session expires) when they want to see weather or switch off a light while standing by the wall? My screen doesn’t have a keyboard, neither physical nor on-screen.
I’m new to this. Do people want a wall mounted dashboard available at any time without logging in? Am I missing something or wanting something unusual because of my inexperience? Do people hack those connection settings, seemingly focused on a mobile client, to make it work on a wall mounted screen? What is really the correct practice?
My screen will show a Firefox in kiosk mode that will have a HA dashboard as it’s page to show. This makes me think of it in terms of web sessions, cookies and such rather then connections. I must be mistaken and misled due to my inexperience
There is no right or wrong: just the way you want it and if that’s achievable, you’re fine.
HA has many possibilities, your reading time here might be to limited to know this.
If you plan to use a wall mounted display as a console to your home automation, I don’t understand where the problem is that it’s available to anyone who is physically present in your house…
I have a RPi with a touchscreen in my office, just for a HA dashboard and a tablet that is roaming around with the companion app, but also for other purposes.
OTOH: I try to make the place as smart as possible with automations so I do have to use these devices as little as possible and by that don’t expose everything, but even then: I don’t see a problem.
