Access Home assistant from Internet

Hi

I am trying to access my instance from outside my LAN.
When I use the URL I get the the home assistant landing page, and when logging in I get

192.168.x.y is a private IP address, i.e. per definition (kind of) you can only access it from within your own network.

Making it accessible from the outside world directly potentially opens a whole can of worms.

When I’m accessing my HA instance from the outside, I’m going through a VPN.
Depending on what kind of network and equipment you’re using, this might be the simplest and most secure option for you as well. Many newer routers have the option to set up an OVPN server directly and OVPN clients for Android and iOS are available in the respective app stores.

192…168.x.y is my reverse proxy server, so my request is getting to the right place it is just not being accepted

Are you trying to say it cannot be done?
What about the Companion iOS app, I am prevented from logging in because of this error.
