Accidenly did a factory restore on Z-Stick Gen5+ and now devices will not pair

I was including new devices this morning. Had an issue with on of the devices and wanted to reset it. I accidently reset my Aeon Z-Stick Gen5+ losing all my devices (mainly Fibaro dimmers).

Now that I want to repair the devices, the stick does not include anything. None of my devices will pair anymore.

Anyone else here have the same experience before and fixed this? Or does anyone else have tips to solve this?

You have to exclude the devices first, even though they aren’t paired to an active controller anymore.

Aaaah ok. I wasn’t aware of that. I have managed to get a device to pair again.

Thank you very very much!

Any controller should be able to exclude a device. Just put the controller into exclusion mode ^& exclude the device first. If that does not work, factory rest the device & then include it. Some cheap Chinese devices do not exclude properly anyway :frowning:

Factory reset of the Aeon Stick was the problem. I was not able to add devices afterwards. I had to exclude every single device before I was able to re-include it.

I did however find out that including and making everything work with just zwavejs2mqtt is not working. Especially the webinterface is not updating when using mqtt. So, I switched to just zwave JS, which works perfectly.

It is recommended you use the websocket HA Server, with the zwavejs integration, not MQTT with HA.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way. I had zwavejs2mqtt running for a long time without issue. Until today  I find zwavejs a lot more responsive. So it’s actually an improvement for me.

It should be the same thing, minus the control panel. Perhaps the responsivemenss relates to the newer version of zwavejs you are now running. I currently try to keep my zwavejs2mqtt pretty up to date.

It works fine here now. Good to know I can do the same with zwavejs as zwavesjs2mqtt.
