It seems you already have a thermostat that controls your valve. The thermostat only opens and closes the valve. It does not change the temperature. The water temperature is controlled by the heating system. So I believe you only need to replace the thermostat with a smart thermostat that can be controlled by HA. If you have zigbee then check here for supported ones: https://zigbee.blakadder.com/hvac.html
I personally use a Wifi thermostat based on Tuya. It works well but it’s gererally better to avoid Tuya becauae its controlled by the Tuya cloud. Tuya devices are fine if you can replace the firmware with ESPHome which only works for hardware supported by ESPHome.
Just to clarify; it’s the thermostat on the shunt I want to replace with one I can control with HA. It’s so I can adjust the temperature of the circulating water.
My current setup is like this with a regular thermostat connected to a probe. It’s this thermostat I want to replace.
The manufacturer (Roth) actually has a thermostat with weather compensation but it’s crazy expensive (~1000$).
The thermostat only opens or closes the valve so you have more or less water running through. I don’t think you can control the water temperature with it. I believe the following thermostats should work in general but you would need to verify if it fits your connection.
The thermostat controls the valve depending on the temperature of the water circulating in the floor heating. It’s the setpoint of this thermostat I would like to control with HA.
It uses a probe to measure the temperature of the circulating water so neither of the suggested thermostats would work. Looks like they measure ambient air temperature.
