I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. If not, please educate me… I am still learning!
I need some help figuring out how to troubleshoot this problem. I have 2 Acurite refrigerator / freezer thermometers on RTL_433. I got everything configured and have the temps reading into HA. (Hooray!)
Twice in the last 2 days, the temperatures reported by the sensors just “freeze” and stop updating in HA. Like this:
The logs in RTL_433 show that the sensors are updating properly. The times and temperatures are changing (see below). But notice it only shows the temp in deg C, not deg F. (This will be important later.)
When I look at the values in MQTT Explorer (shown below), the times and the values in deg C are updating. However, the values in deg F are not, which is what I am pulling for my graphs in HA. The values in deg F do not correspond to the shown value of deg C. They were correct before, so I know whatever conversion is happening is correct, but now they are frozen and not updating.
Anyone have any clue why the deg F values are not updating? Where do these even come from, as I don’t see them as an output of RTL_433? Is there a setting somewhere? I am defining these sensors manually in my configuration, which I grabbed from someone else and was working fine yesterday:
I have no idea how to continue to troubleshoot this. Can anyone offer any hints?? Or is my only hope to move to a country that uses deg C?
