What do you add to adaptive-cover with adaptive-cover-pro?

Hello,
Is this the right forum to discuss Adaptive Cover PRO?
It says the latest version is 2.6.8, but I’m using 2.7.15!

Can anyone also tell me if they’re using a pyranometer? Irradiance works correctly in Adaptive Cover but not in Adaptive Cover PRO…

Thanks for your help,
patrickp78

@jrhubott can you add a “how to” for the glare zone area. I think I’ve mostly got it correct but so far it hasn’t activated as of yet. i assume it can be used to get a certain corner of the room to never recieve direct sunlight?

Is there an issue with the cloud suppression? I enabled it and configured a lux sensor with a threshold of 50000 lux and it still always controls via solar instead of moving to the default. I also tried using my ecobee as a weather entity and still no effect.

@jrhubott hey, in regards to my last reply I’ve reread the whole Git hub explanations you have. I apologise that I had missed some sections and recalibrated my setup. However I am still unclear what is meant by the “Glare zone Radius” with it being in cm. what measurement am I meant to be doing here? is it the distance from the Y position to the edge of the protected area or something else?

Hey! Adaptive Cover Pro really has a ton of freatures - great. But I am experiencing some rather “basic” issues and I wonder if a workarround is really needed:
i) When sun-prodection conditions are not met the raffstores shall be retracted (100% in Gira Actor) → in this position the Tilt-Changes are active resulting the Raffstore changing tilt while beeing fully retracted??

ii) Sun-Tracking results in continuous tilt-changes. Unfortunantly with older actors there are issues with such small changes resulting in significant drift or no motion at all. I have set minimal change to 20% but that does not solve the drift issue. My old solution was to set tilt to 100% before hitting the actual tilt-angle according to the calculation. Is it correct, that Adaptive Cover pro does not have such feature?
Only solution is a rather extensive template for both issues and setting adaptive cover pro to a virtual device (template) of the specific raffstore?

Thanks for any input and help!

Will curtains that open left and right be added? I’m using this currently using the verticle mode which is working ok but I don’t think I am getting the full benefit.

Great Integration!

With the setting: Field of view left*.
Is this the left when facing standing inside or outside?

Hello, this is a fantastic integration! I’m absolutely thrilled with it, but I do have one quick question:
How can I prevent the system from moving to the default position—say, 100%—the moment the automation's start time is reached? The reason I ask is that I use a separate automation to open my roller shutters, and I want them to remain closed initially—especially in the bedrooms. However, if I set a start time for shading—for instance, 8:00 AM—all the shutters move upward to a raised position, even though I’m not even awake yet

Great integration! However, I'm currently experiencing one issue: the manual override is not being activated when I press the physical button on our Somfy remote control. Is there a solution for this? I would still like to use the remote.

Hi! Super integration. Saves my houses temperature from getting way high! Is there a toggle option for pausing the integration completely? Like today it, is a cloudy day. I would like a toggle to pause all my screens to react with this integration.

Hello everyone,
I can't seem to trigger a sunset at a specific time in the integration. I created a template that looks like this:

I've set it up correctly in the positioning system, but nothing happens at the scheduled time:

My configuration :

Your Cover
Vertical Blind controlling cover.volet_petite_fenetre_cuisine
1.26m tall window, blocking sun 2.0m from the glass (reveal 0.37m, sill 0.9m)

How It Decides (first matching rule wins)
🔒 Force override: if any of 1 sensor is on → covers go to 15.0% (overrides everything else) [100]
🌧️ Weather safety: if wind > 110.0 or rain > 20.0 → covers retract to 15.0% (waits 300.0s after clearing) ⚠️ halts all automation while triggered [90]
✋ Manual override: pauses automatic control when you move the cover (pauses for 2 h, threshold 2.0%, resets on next move) [80]
⚠️ hold_position mode is set but no motion sensors are configured — the setting has no effect until sensors are added
☁️ Cloud suppression: skips sun tracking when lux < 70000.0 lx, irradiance < 1000.0 W/m² → default (100.0%) [60]
🌡️ Climate mode: adjusts strategy for heating/cooling (comfort range 20.0–25.0°C, using sensor.meter_pro_co2_8824_temperature, outside: sensor.gw3000_outdoor_temperature > 24.0°C, presence: binary_sensor.groupe_presence_reel, closes fully in winter for insulation) [50]
☀️ Tracks the sun (azimuth 45.0°, ±10.0°/45.0° field of view, elevation above 15.0° and below 90.0°) and calculates position to block direct sunlight (today: sun in window 07:50 → 09:25) [40]
    🕒 from input_datetime.heure_ouverture_volet until sensor.sun_next_dusk.
    🔚 After end time → 100.0%.
    🌅 After sunset (via sensor.coucher_soleil_15h00) → 0%.
    🌄 After sunrise (via sensor.sun_next_rising) → 100.0% (tracking resumes).
🔚 Return to sunset position at end time: on

Does anyone see what's wrong?

First things first. I have a set of 3 Z wave blinds and an outdoor Somfy awning. Both are on the same wall of my house. The blinds work flawlessly with no issues. I have a ton of options setup for my blinds for temperature, weather, etc. I have about everything setup on the blinds except the presence and they work flawlessly.

Due to the issues, I have been facing with the awning I have trimmed down the options, so I am using very little. I figured I would start simple and add on.

First thing, the post a couple up. My awning has never reported manual override running. I have tried moving it with the remote, moving it via my Bond bridge (How I control Somfy devices in HA), and moving it in HA. None result in a manual override switch going active.

I seem to have the awning working OK right now. Two issues I have seen:

My awning reports in HA that when it is at 100% that means it is retracted/pulling in/not extended, and 0% means it is out and fully extended. Due to that I use the swap controls in this integration so 100% becomes fully out and extended.

When I make other changes in the config it seems to forget that I have selected that option. It shows that the switch is on in the config, but it doesn’t oerate that way. For a day it reverses all the percentages, and when I want it fully extended then it is retracted and vice versa. This lasts for a day or until I catch it. I go back in and turn off the switch, save, then turn it back on and then it will start working again.

Second issue: At the end of the day, when the sun goes down all of my blinds do as I have them selected to do in the integration and it works flawlessly every day. My awning is supposed to retract when the sun goes down. Every night it sits there fully extended and won’t do anything until I close it with the remote. It does not matter if I hit the point the sun goes down OR if I reach the end time when it should return to the default. Neither results in the awning retracting. Here is my config so if anyone has any ideas I am all ears.
