Add camera and microphone access for android companion app

I just think this would be amazing, seeing a future where your old smart phone can be your smart speaker, ip cam or whatever else would open up a a world of possibilities for the smart home.

already possible using an existing integration

Does it run as a service and allow the phone to be used fully kiosk browser? When I tried this before it just outputted to my phone as well as an IP stream, stopping the device being used.

Actually… this might be an option Home · thecowan/wallpanel-android Wiki · GitHub

Thanks for the nudge

WallPanel has been awesome.

One thing that gets you, the mjpeg camera stream is not available when in the settings of WallPanel. That had me stumped for a few.

I’m guessing the alternatives in this thread are only useful when the phone is on your local network (or a network you can set up port forwarding on)

This is not in the sense of security, privacy and sustainability if apps are prosoped that contain more than 20 proven trackers. Then there is no advance of Home Assiatnt over Google Home or any other propiatary systems.

Isn’t there an IP Cam app around (like from F-Droid) without any trackers?
Everyone who is not using the playstore and looking for these apps in anlternative app store like Aurora gets informations about trackers.

By the way I support enabling camera and microphone over the companion app as we could decide to enable this sensors or not.
