We could control our light and security system by connecting to the Crestron system
Hi, welcome to the forum.
Is this a request or what since your post is very minimalistic.
It is a request
Did you conduct a search because there are quite some threads about this.
I know but like I want to control my Crestron led controller via the home assistant app like I want so when I click on the on button on the pico remote to set the led controller to 60% brightness and I don’t know how
There are 2 things to do:
- integrate the LED controller & security system with HA so it can be controlled
- configure HA so you can use the webUI or the mobile companion app to control both
I created this request to help people who have the same problem I have my goal was to ask home assistant developer
to add the Crestron home to the integration page on the home assistant app because it seems really hard to add it and I don’t really understand it so… if you could help me out with adding a Crestron device it would be appreciated
Like if you could Gide me to add my Crestron device?
Hi Nick. I too have been trying to integrate Crestron Home with HA and not found any posts that were able to assist. I think the challenge here is that there are several Crestron flavours out there and it also depends on the CPU model you are using. Since I am also new to this forum, is there anyone who can guide on how to get this started or ask questions that will get us somewhere?
Hey @ciscogaming99, i’m by no means a Crestron dev or expert but i’m currently controlling a DM8x8, RMC3 and a fully fledged suite of 8 endpoints fo RMC-200-c’s or scalers in my house. This includes 2x AppleTV’s and all the 8 endpoints being sony tv’s and subsequent HDMI ARC equipment or IR control 5.1 amplifiers via a text command sent from Home assistant at via what is essentially a glorified telnet connection. HA sends APPLETV1_UP as text to a Crestron RMC3 unit that has a SIMPLWindows serial input module that compares that text stream then issues the HDMI command to the Apple TV box.
Currently i’m trying to re-purpose 2 TSS-732 units for my theatre room control (inlcuding 2 custom 3d-printed brackets to hold them via an insert around the cup holders of the recliner suite)
Happy to exchange ideas of how to do stuff as this gear is exceptionally reliable and so far has kept the better three quarters happy, WAF is pretty high on this so in the spirit of “helpin’ a brother out” free free to ask away, can’t promise an answer or efficient solution but just maybe a muddled and fabri-cobbled answer can be fashioned!
