Add devices from google home

I have some bulbs that are compatible with google home, but not with Home Assistant, I would like to know how to control those bulbs using Hassio, such as:

  • Turn on, turn off
  • Know the status
    -etc

What bulbs are they?

I using this brand https://ozom.com/
and I can control them using google home, but I don’t know how to control them from hassio

If there’s no home assistant integration for them you won’t be able to control them in home assistant unfortunately.

I was hoping they were a rebranded Tuya / Smart Life bulb, but it appears they are not. So, I would have to agree with @Tediore.

I did a little more looking. Do your bulbs require an Ozom Box of some sort? There is a possibility the bulbs are Zigbee based and will work with HA if you get a Zigbee dongle. I found this link that may help.

The Zigbee dongle which of all is there in aliexpress?

I personally use the HUSBZB-1 and CC-2531, but only one would really be necessary. I have ZHA using the HUSBZB and Zigbee2MQTT using the 2531. You may also want to check out Blakadder’s Zigbee website. Switching over would require removing the bulbs from the Ozom box and linking them to the new USB stick. Do your research, especially where range of the devices you may consider going with is concerned.

and these connect to the raspberry or where do they connect?

They both connect via USB.

You may want to check out https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha/ for further info. Another resource would be https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/. Each is a distinctly different way to get zigbee info in and out of Home Assistant but both are effective. Another device you may want to consider is the new Sonoff Zigbee Bridge. It runs independently and does not require a USB connection to your Home Assistant server. Here is a very recent video on this very device and getting it connected to Home Assistant.

Hey sorry for digging up this old post just, I just wanted to add that at least fans can be added in the tuya/smartlife app which will then integrate to Home assistant.
