Add Energy Usage to Home Dashboard

Hi,

I want to display my electric energy usage from the energy portion of home assistant under ‘home’ dashboard.

Is the link below going to present me with the best options?

Apparently you start with a blank card and add what you want to see, but seems very limited. Is there not a way to specify energy use year to date or last month? Will keep searching forums

The content of the energy cards will reflect whatever you’ve set up in the main energy dashboard. You select monthly, annual etc. in the picker card (looks like you have that top right). There’s also a “compare data” option which allows you to compare today with yesterday, this week with last week and so on.

Well I chose

type: energy-usage-graph

I don’t see how to expand this command for month or year to date.

My energy card is coming up blank and for whatever reason I cannot post a screenshot right now

To select day/month/year etc you also need

type: energy-date-selection

Your energy cards will appear blank until you’re set up monitoring in the main energy dashboard - they just reflect whatever you have there.

I thought it was all setup. Did you see screenshot from earlier post

This is what I get on blank card:

Just to be sure: did you already try a Vertical stack Card?
For instance:

type: vertical-stack
cards:
  - type: energy-date-selection
  - type: energy-usage-graph

That gives me this card ( with June selected as month):

I had not tried vertical stack card. This is pretty cool which I could make it a little bigger. Don’t get me wrong I can quickly click energy on side but wanted to include on my home tab. This is what I am after seeing my year to date electric usage. National Grid is slow to post data so can’t really look at past week, might be able to look at last months (if data is available)
