I have a suggestion to add the hide function to unused or offline ESP devices very simple and effective solution to make the dashboard cline.
This is the ESPHome Feature request tracker.
But I often find it’s better to sound out the Devs on the ESPHome Discord to get quick feedback on the idea before raising a request.
