Add hyperlinks on main settings page directly to Automations, scripts etc

A small simple “quality of life” request…

Under Devices and Services make the words: “integrations, devices, entities, helpers” hyperlinks that directly take you to them.

And under Automations and Scenes make the words: “automation, scenes, scripts, helpers” hyperlinks as well.

I cannot tell you how many times I clicked on the word “scripts” start looking for the one I want to edit, and then realize I am looking at automations. Perhaps it is just me? But this small change would be appreciated.

I like it. This is exactly the kind of thing UI designers should be looking at. It’s not trendy. It’s not going to earn recognition in the designer community. Nobody will write an article about the flashy new look. But it’ll be a real help for day-to-day users.

You can create custom buttons in the left toolbar to take you directly to automations/scripts/helpers etc. For example, in my system these go to Integrations, Automations, Scripts and Helpers:

I’ve pretty much forgotten how to get there via Devices & Services.

There’s a guide here:

Thanks for the tip Jack. I have not tried that out before. I am aware of the “C” hotkey which pretty much anywhere in the GUI will bring up a list of all of the various places you can jump directly to. Still, I like the hyperlink idea as nearly everyone in the world (including my 92 year old mother) knows that an underlined word is a hyperlink. It just seems like a nearly painless thing to add that may have a positive impact with experts and novices alike.
