Is it possible to get the automations created in Niko Home Control into HAS? This way I could further build out the automation with things outside of the Niko ecosystem. I currently only see lights and switches.

I just installed HA on an RPi (Home Assistant OS 6.6, core-2021.11.5)
Can someone give me a step by step installation procedure about this ?
Managed to create myself a Hobby API key.
Can’t find the NHC II in the list if integrations.
I don’t have any experience with manual adding these.
I don’t think the info from here is enough ? Niko Home Control - Home Assistant

I added this but got errors, so removed it. What is the correct procedure? Because I think I need to add some more files, aff the API key somewhere ?

And it would be great to have this, because the whole house is managed by NHC II

You need to install HACS and first add the integration there before adding the integration in config.

Hi, you got the voltage, watts, kwh and current in HA of the Niko 170-33505? So I suppose you can use them now as energy measurement? Is it working well?

I just started out with this NHC2 integration and as far as I can see I can’t get individual button presses or PIR state events. I looked into the hobby API documentation and there also doesn’t seem to be a direct way of exposing these. So this is what I plan on doing, but first wanted to confirm to see if this is a sane approach:

  • Have each individual button control a virtual device (with a basic routine)
  • Have each individual motion sensor control a virtual device
  • Connect all those virtual devices to the lights etc. via conditions (if-then-else)
  • Add a virtual / app-only basic routine to each light / thing to be controlled

While a bit cumbersome I think I should end up with a way to:

  • Control each device individually
  • Check the state of each actuator / sensor individually

Does this make sense or not?

( I realize this will only work for binary (on/off) devices. Dimmable lights will not work this way, since virtual devices are binary. )

If it worked out for you, maybe you could help me out?
I’m completely new at these kind of things but I tried to follow all steps above:

  • Instal HACS
  • Add niko home control into HACS (I can see it in the custom_components folder → nhc2)
  • Add these lines in the configurations.yaml
    ‘# Example configuration.yaml entry’
    ‘light:’
    ’ - platform: niko_home_control’
    ’ host: 192.168…’
  • Restart
  • Go to + add integration
  • searched for the nhc
  • But from there, it hangs at the setup

I also activated the Niko Hobby API key. I’m working with the smart wireless Niko hub

What do I miss? Hopefully, someone can help me out because using Niko would be my main reason to work wit HA :sweat_smile:

Bram,

Heb je de hub al eens gereset ? Uit het stopcontact halen. Dan je ha heropstarten en nog eens proberen ?

Hoi,

Bedoel je dan met reset echt een volledige reset? Met hem uit het stopcontact te halen, 30sec wachten, terug insteken, HA heropstarten is het jammer genoeg nog niet opgelost. Hij is hier nu al een uur naast mij aan het proberen laden dus ik vrees er voor.

Hier net hetzelfde, ik denk dat sinds de laatste update (van HA of Niko zelf, want daar was ook update van) de connectie kapot is. En de ontwikkelaar van de integratie heeft hier jammer genoeg geen tijd voor op dit moment…

Ik heb mijn integratie weggenomen uit Ha (wel nog in config.yaml laten staan). Hub uit het stopcontact. Na 10 seconden terug erin. Integratie weer toegevoegd. Hobby en key ingevuld en het werkte…

Dan heb jij meer geluk of is er bij mij toch nog ergens iets anders mis…
Heb ook de Niko integratie eens verwijderd in de HACS. Opnieuw gedownload, restart, hub uit het stopcontact voor 20sec, restart, integratie gestart maar zelfde verhaal.

Waar kan het dan nog aan liggen?

Ik had had ook steeds de config flow fout maar na het uitvoeren van een kleine aanpassing in mijn niko home installatie via de niko software en een upload te doen (hierdoor herstart de niko home controller) kon ik plots wel de integratie toevoegen…Blijkbaar hield de Niko controller zelf iets tegen?

Wat had je juist aangepast dan? Ik heb ook net even een schakelaar aan iets anders gekoppeld en een scene toegevoegd om dit te testen maar bij mij geeft dit geen verschil :confused:
