I created enough problems in my hassio that I decided a fresh start would be best now that I have learned from my previous mistakes. So, I have Samba, duckdns and SSH add-ons working and I wanted to add the configurator. I started to replace values in its ‘config’ and while I am typing, the values are being reset to defaults and my cursor is moved to the bottom. Has anyone experienced this? I really need some help here because how to proceed to fix this is not apparent to me. BTW, I was having great success automating with home-assistant until I decided to experiment with converting to Lovelace. At some point in making mistakes there, I lost the ability to login completely. That is when I thought watching more yutube on Lovelace and starting with a fresh SD card would be best. Then I ran into this. Thanks for any help/suggestions. Doug
New information. While waiting for help on the forum, I tried installing the add-on for mosquitto 4.1 which requires acl. So I proceeded as instructed to do that and again, if I try to change ‘false’ to ‘true’, it pops back to ‘false’ before I can save it. So this problem is not related to the configurator add-on. I have the problem with all add-ons. I hope that helps narrow down where to look for a solution. Thanks, Doug
what browser are you using?
I am using Firefox 65.0.2(64bit) Win10.
I have been fixing my config.yaml and making other changes because this SD write of hassio has some new features requiring ACL for mosquitto and tp-link went from a platform to another format. I wanted to start over, but the upgrades have made the structure different and I am struggling to figure it all out.
Some where in my changes, the overwriting of add-on configs stopped happening. I can not say what made the difference, but I have configurator and other add-ons working.
Thank you for replying; it is much appreciated.
The next journey is to Lovelace. Seeing that is what broke my working hassio and is taking me a week to recover from, I am going to copy my SD card and keep a backup (which of course I should have done in the first place (LOL)
Are you on on 0.90.1?
This issue was reported on discord for the last beta, i think.
Could not find it at the moment.
Thank you VDRainer. I had the problem in 0.90.0 and during a number of changes I updated to 0.90.1 and found the problem went away. I can not say for sure what cured the problem, but after your comment, it seems that updating may have been the solution.
I really appreciate the speedy assistance I received on the forum. Things can be complicated and changes are frequent. I doubt if I would succeed without this help.
Again, thanks, Doug
