I didn’t find any topics on this, so I started a new one, I hope this is where to post my problem!
I have the HA-OS installed on a NUC and everything seems to be running just fine. I installed some add-ons, in particular, the VS Studio and the SSH/Terminal add-ons (a few others, as well.).
I’m still learning the VS interface.
But, where I’m really having problems is with the SSH/terminal, so I cannot reach any of my files on the installation! I’ve used SSH before plenty, so I’m familiar with it’s operation.
When I try selecting the add-on from the side panel, I get a “~” (tilde) prompt. After I type in “login” it gives me a new prompt. I type in my username, it asks for my password. But after I type in my PW and hit Enter, it goes crazy. I get lines of dots that start covering the screen. Moving up from the bottom.
If I click anywhere on the screen with my mouse, it seems to clear the screen, but it just continues with the rows of dots from there. I have tried typing ^C, “exit” and nothing works. The ONLY way to stop it is by going into Settings–>Add-Ons–>SSH/Terminal, then either STOP the service or Restart it.
And if I start out there (instead of selecting from the side-panel), and click in “Open UI” then I get what appears to be the same screen, except now, anything I type appears in the colored line at the very bottom of the screen, that says, “Got to line…” (anything I type gets inserted after that “prompt” and there doesn’t seem to be any way to change it.) So, if I type “1” the cursor goes to line one, next to the tilde. Sounds promising, yeah?! But anything else I type is still in the colored line that says, “Got to line…” and it doesn’t get entered in the “terminal.” Nothing useful happens.
What is going on?! Can anyone advise me?
Thanks in advance (MUCH gratitude) if anyone can help!
