I have a cool idea to make the Workday integration in Home Assistant even better. Right now, if you need to change the workday calendar, you have to do it manually with the “configure” button. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could do this dynamically using Home Assistant actions or services?
Why it’s Needed:
The Workday integration is super useful for automating things based on workdays and holidays. But sometimes, stuff comes up like unexpected holidays or special workdays, and fixing it manually can be a pain . If we could add or remove days with actions or services, it would be way more flexible and save us a lot of hassle!
Proposed Features:
Add / Remove Custom Days via Action/Service: Imagine having an action or service that lets you add specific days to the workday calendar, marking them as workdays or holidays. You could trigger this from automations or scripts.
Examples and Details:
- Example 1: If there’s an unexpected holiday, a script or automation can use the new service to exclude this day, no manual work needed!
- Example 2: For a special workday, you could set up an automation that includes this day in the calendar based on an event from your Google Calendar. Cool, right?
This feature would make managing workday schedules so much easier and more adaptable to real-life changes.
