The OpenGarage device has a optional switch input you can monitor for whatever you want. The home assistant integration does not offer to display the state of that input. I currently use it with a magnetic switch to tell if the garage door is all the way closed. In the summer I like to crack the door just enough to allow faster cooling. If HA can give me the state of that switch input I can have it automatically close the door after say 10 pm if the switch tells me the door is not all the way closed.
