Could the entity_category

please be added to the object properties available in templates?

Agreed.
And to motivate this a bit more – it does help with managing the ever increasing number of sensors. Another incredible management tool is the auto-entity card which allows us to write very little code in order to auto-manage entities. (I think it should be folded into HA Core TBH, it’s kind of an “adjacent” feature to all the dashboard work being done).

Having reliable template access to the Integration and to the Entity Category would be amazing.
