Adding a HiHome power switch

Trying to add a HiHome power switch (WPP-16R), but I don’t know where to begin. I guess I have to configure the bloody thing, but how? It doesn’t broadcast a wifi network, and also not after holding the button for a while. Their support site is an absolute dog’s dinner, so I can’t really use that to get more details either.

Does anybody know how I tell this thing what my wifi settings are? Then, I suppose, adding its integration to HA, is a bridge I’ll cross once I can get the power switch to exist on my network in the first place.

Just to get it out of the way:

I did actually hear about it being related to Tuya? Whatever that is, it seems like a scam. I tried their app, and all it does is a 4-screen slideshow and a button to try out “pro” mode, which on its turn demands I agree to some kind of privacy policy - obviously I’m not going to agree, upon which it just exits. Uhm, okay, sure, screw you too then?

HA documentation and the Tuya integration UI make mention of this app, so maybe I got the wrong app (in which case, apologies for the rant), or it’s been compromised. But since the power switch is local (how could it not be??) there is no need for anything to do with privacy, which is why I got extremely suspicious straight away.
