Adding entities with long names to cards

Hi.

Is there a way to show entity names that are longer than the width of the entity-dropdown field when creating a card?
I have a lot of sensors with long names which makes it cumbersome to create cards. They will have a number at the end that I use to identify them.

Pasting the name into the “entity” field does not work directly either, unless the last character is deleted and re-added in order to trigger a search for the device.

You can change the friendly name for each in the configuration / entities menu.

I’d also recommend changing the entity id to sonething more simple like sensor.motion_office. I don’t get why people work with this obscure auto generated names.
