Adding IP devices to HA? Too simple to figure out? (am I dumb?)

Hi,

I want to use some IP based devices to be monitored by HA.

Based on the IP (active/ not active [in terms of pingable]) I want to create automations.

If IP-DEVICE changes state from offline to online then do XYZ.

My point is: How do I add my device? I have not found a way to add such a device.

Please help, it might be too simple.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but I think you may be looking for something like this, Ping?
