First of all I’m a big fan of HA. Also a lot of respect for all the people who put effort in the product.
What I think can be improved is the editing of the configuration.yaml. This is for a lot of people a bridge to far. For instance, I’m using the thermostat a lot. For every instance I have to add a lot of code in the configuration.yaml. For me it’s not a big issue, however I don’t like yaml. But for people who are more a common user it’s to difficult. An other drawback of using it this way, is the need for reloading if you want to change something. Perhaps there is a way to change this.
The move to GUI setup have been an ongoing process for some time now.
A lot have already happened and more will happen, but it will probably be impossible to move everything to GUI, so it will always be required somewhat. At least for the more advanced setups.
If you look at many of the latest release notes, then you will see a section for things moved to the UI.
I could find it all the way back to version 0.108 from 2020.
