So I’ve recently installed some WS2815 Addressable LED light strips that are running off of a ESP8285 controller. The controller is running the Tasmota firmware version 11.1.0.4. Everything with HomeAssistant is working fine as long as I want all the LED to be the same color.
What I’m looking for are some example of scenes or automation where I could make LED1-50 one color and maybe LED51-100 another color. I’ve tried googling this but I guess I’m not using the correct terms cause thus far I haven’t been able to find what I’m looking for.
Does Tasmota work with individually addressable strips? I’ve never thought to try.
WLED is excellent for them and if you can flash or OTA the controller. Seriously worth looking into. Definitely allows you to segment as requested.
crlogic,
Yeah if I log into the web console for the controller I can change individual LED colors. Let me look into the WLED project is that is better for what I’m trying to accomplish
I would also have to agree with @crlogic WLED is a better project for what you are asking for. Wled will let you create multiple segments out of one string of LEDs. And, you get the bonus of creating presets, so you can have all your different color segment or effects, and bring then up with preset. Different mood light for every occasion, Happy Lighting.
Yup I already looked at flashing the controllers I have with WLED but apparently they don’t have enough memory to support WLED. So at this point I’m looking for suggestions on new wireless (802.11) LED controllers. I’d like them to come assembled with an enclosure (I’m looking at you QuinLED-Dig-Uno) and support 12volts with a minimum of 8amp of current supported. The only other thing I need is for the controller to work with addressable LEDs. Any suggestions?
