AdGuard extension is working but not blocking ads

Hi all, I tried to search about this but didn’t get any useful answer.
I have installed adGuard home in my Home assistant installation. Configured, added filters and all that. Then I noticed that is actually not blocking many ads and that seems to be a random thing. For example going to the Test Ad Block - Toolz website I can se most of the times I block only 5 ads, other times 40% of ads.

I then added a custom filter

||example.org^

and trying to nslookup (my hassio is running at 192.168.1.2)

nslookup example.org 192.168.1.2
Server:		192.168.1.2
Address:	192.168.1.2#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	example.org
Address: 93.184.215.14

I can see the website is not blocked at all. To exclude any router related problem I’m both executing the nslookup directly to the 192.168.1.2 and I’ve also manually added to my computer only the hassio ip.
Does anyone know why the extension is resolving the dns but not blocking them? Ofc I have the extension enabled but as you can see apart from one spike, nothing has been blocked since then

I encountered this myself sometimes, and every time the “Block domains using filters and hosts files” setting was turned off. Did you check that?

ok let me answer myself! I hope this is going to be useful for others as well.
For some weird reason, I must have mistakenly uncheck this checkbox! and I haven’t realized! Enabling it back makes all working again! It would have been good if I had a red mark in the homepage

yeah! that was it :smiley: mb!

great! yeah keeps happening to me as well. plus I agree, the UX could be better :smiley:
