Adons run for me

I have a Home Assistant with Virtual Box, OS.

From one day to the next, I simply can’t access the adons (not even the adon page in the settings).

It’s not user permission (He’s a supervisor, ok).

I’ve already restored the backup and the problem persists.

Is there a way to solve it? Because if I have to reinstall (without using a backup) it’s going to be a lot of work to configure everything again.

Hello everton2040,
Welcome to the Home Assistant Forum!

It sounds like you did not install HAOS. Did you install the Container version??

HAOS is required to use add-ons. Container is similar but uses external docker containers to run programs that would be add-ons in HAOS.

New Home Assistant Users that are not real familiar with Linux stuff and Docker are generally suggested to use HAOS Install.

I installed the correct version, yes, I’ve been using Home Assistant for over a year. Then yesterday the adons simply disappeared (it doesn’t open the adons page, nor the Terminal, Rednode, and other installed adons pages)

I’m not a new user.

Well, Welcome to the forum anyway, this is the first time you posted according to the message we see in your first post. i did make an assumption however you are still having a problem with your installation.

I have not personally done it, but search the forum for resetting supervisor, it may not be running as that could manifest the problems you report.

I just reinstalled, I went back to the last backup (automations, addresses, etc.) and it opened normally, but after a few minutes the ads disappear. It’s not a problem to reset the supervisor

I reinstalled it again and used the same backup. This time the problem occurred when I logged in using another browser (I opened it on my home PC, and the ads opened normally). When I opened it on my work PC, the ads didn’t open. Maybe it has something to do with some kind of expiration or something like that.

Also, when I installed it on my cell phone, it didn’t open when I tried to open it, as if it only opened on the “first device I logged in to, regardless of the user.”

Maybe this will help someone else understand how to solve it.

On the same device (my PC) and with the same login, the ads only open when logged in via “local network”, when logged in externally via https it does not open.

I use CloudFare, local login the addons appears. via browser www.xxxxx.com dont appears.

For app dont appers too

Only add-ons that support Ingress will open using your www.xxxx.com

It sounds like you are describing it very vaguely and ambigiously.
What I understood (and others here) with „Appearing“ is that you dont see the Addons at all. But you cannot simply open it, yes? Maybe screenshots might help what you mean to be honest….

so basically opening it locally with the internal ip adress works BUT opening it from external with a dns name doesnt work?

if this is the case this might also help.

  1. make sure you configured an external port for the addon
  2. make sure port forwarding is configured
