What are the advantages of using Conbee/deconz over a Hue Bridge or an IKEA trådfri bridge, other than the more philosophical things like “It’s opensource”?
Can both the Trådfri and Philips Hue Equipment be easily updated through Conbee/deconz?

I just installed a ConBee and 2 Xiaomi door sensors for my terrace doors. More doors/windows to follow.
I decided against a Xiaomi gateway mainly because it is limited to devices from that brand, and I was hoping to move my Hue lights to deCONZ in the long term.
My understanding is that deCONZ is not fully open source, and firmware updates are not possible, but haven’t tried yet.
Hue devices firmwares can only be updated from their own bridge atm, they don’t post unencrypted fw for other systems to use.
Ikea puts their fw on a webpage and can deconz can update the Trådfri devices firmwares.
For me there are three reasons for getting deconz over using the Hue bridge.
