I’m after some advice really, I have had a Raspberry Pi 4 (32-bit) set up with HA for a while now (SkyConnect attached) and I have set up an extensive Node Red automation set up, however with the latest NodeRed update it says my set up is no longer supported.
“Failed to perform the action update/install. Error updating Node-RED: Add-on a0d7b954_nodered not supported on this platform, supported architectures: aarch64, amd64”
So I’m looking to invest in new upgraded hardware, as eventually there may be more and more things that get to end of life/support. I don’t mind investing money into a better solution and one that might offer me more possibilities but I want that transition to be as easy as possible so I dont loose all the hours of tinkering and setting up. I’m fairly tech savvy (work and hobbies) but definitely a beginner when it comes to all of this stuff.
Would there have been an option for 64 bit when I first started? They were in my proper noob days!
So if I was to go for a NUC based platform, it would be an easy transition as I’d want to ensure it all transferred across leaving the old one in place until I knew compatibility was good?
Yes that would be good but in the meantime if you were to use google backup to back up the PI, then install the 64 bit version, then restore that same HA backup it would run much cooler and about 25% faster…
