Aeon Labs DSC11 Power Strip

Has anyone used this? it has 6 outlets, 1st 2 are always on then last 4 (2,3,4,5) are controlled. I bought one and have it setup - and working for the most part. The zwave outlets/switches were pretty straight forward but I am having some issues with the power/energy readings.

Everything is labelled and you would think it would correspond to like IDs but it does not seem to. For example, I am currently using 1 of the always on and the last 2 zwave outlets (IDs 4 & 5). I believe I am getting the total power/energy usage but nothing is reflected for the 2 zwave outlets I am using. This is not a deal-breaker on the device but I do like it when everything works as it should.

I just got one of these myself and have been playing (read “fighting”) with it to get it working as I believe it should. Turns out that all 6 of the outlets are actually supposed to be power metering, but only those last four are controllable via Z-Wave. Like you, however, I only get four outlets showing up with power metering sensors in HASS. The crazy part as I’ve discovered though, is that the four power metering outlets I have in HASS are actually outlets 1-4, and not 5 & 6! I’m guessing that this is the same for you, and that if you were to plug your 3D printer into one of the other outlets, you’ll see the power usage. Have you tried that?

Also note that, despite having settings for sending power reports when the wattage/percentage changes, I’ve found that this doesn’t actually work. It only reports on a time interval, which is 5 minutes by default but I’ve changed to be 30 seconds for me.

I plan to reach out to Aeotec support, but unfortunately I don’t have a solution yet :frowning:

For me it was 1&2 (from the power cord side) are not individually z-wave controlled and then 3-6 are. I currently have the 3D printer in outlet 5 but only track the power usage of the entire strip. At least as of now I only have 3 total device plugged in and all are related to the 3D printer: 3D printer (5), enclosure lights (4), Octopi/camera (3).

I’ve had one of these for a few years now for my entertainment center. Works rather well! I was going to buy another but noticed it’s out of stock almost everywhere I look (even the link on Aeon’s own website over to Amazon shows it’s out of stock). Anyone have thoughts on why?

In looking at their website, I don’t see it directly listed under Products but can still see it from a google search. To me that would suggest it has been discontinued. Perhaps they will offer an updated version in the future.

Hope so! It was expensive for sure but once I figured it out, I find it works very well.
