(i m french so sorry for my english, i try my best) new to home automation and new to Home Assistant. I searched to the forum but i did not found answer to my question.
To my new way in home automation and homeassistant, i installed hassio on a Virtual Machine on Windows 10. To test HomeAssistant, automations, device integration, etc. Worked great
I m going to buy a zwave usb stick. I m interested in AEON Z STICK GEN 5 for his pairing button, so my question :
If i continue using homeassistant and buy a hardware (raspberry, nuc, etc), will the already paired devices with the key be installed and configured in the new homeassistant installation without accessing all the devices to press the inclusion button ?
Yes, the devices are paired with the stick so when you plug in the stick to the new hardware it will pick up all of the paired devices.
But a couple of things to be aware of…
the entity_ids & nodes names won’t transfer over unless you copy over the old ozw…cfg.xml file. Even then not everything might not be the same on your new system. Be prepared to have to do some work on it.
And I just saw a notice that the Aeotec z stick isn’t compatible with the raspberry Pi 4 unless you add a USB 2.0 hub in between the stick and the Pi.
